Choosing the correct unit
Torque: N·m, N·cm, kgf·m, kgf·cm, lbf·ft and lbf·in. Force: N, kN, kgf, gf and lbf. Angle: degrees, radians, turns, arcminutes and arcseconds. Energy and work: J, mJ, kJ, MJ, cal, kcal, Wh, kWh, erg and eV.
kg is mass; kgf is force under standard gravity (9.80665 m/s²). N·m here denotes torque and is kept separate from energy in J. Arcminutes and arcseconds measure angles, not time. cal means the thermochemical calorie (4.184 J). W is power, while Wh is energy.
Enter a number followed by a symbol or name, such as “10 N m”, “100 newtons”, “180 degrees” or “1 kilowatt-hour”. This converts an existing quantity; it does not determine a bolt's required tightening torque. Values are rounded for display.
